CHUCK HOSKIN ELECTED AS OKLAHOMA’S 6th DISTRICT STATE REPRESENTATIVE

Washington, DC – Twenty-First Century Democrats congratulates Chuck Hoskin and his campaign for their victory in Oklahoma’s 6th sate house district. Hoskin was one of 34 candidates endorsed by Twenty-First Century Democrats, the nation’s 13th largest political action committee, during the 2006 election cycle.

“We are proud to have endorsed Chuck Hoskin this election season,” said Kelly C. Young, president of Twenty-First Century Democrats. “Chuck is not only experienced and determined, but he also has the innate ability to inspire, which is a necessary trait for any great leader. He understands the needs of everyday Americans and will allow their voices to be heard in Oklahoma’s State House of Representatives.”

Chuck Hoskin, a member of the Cherokee Nation, was one of four Native American candidates running for an Oklahoma State House or Senate seat in today’s election. Therefore, Chuck’s victory has made America one step closer to achieving leadership that is more representative of the nation as a whole. As State Representative, Hoskin plans to improve healthcare, education, housing, employment and economic development for all Oklahoma citizens.

The endorsement of such a small number of candidates nationwide signals a new direction for Twenty-First Century Democrats. “We are bringing the Democratic Party back to the people, and we’re making it a party of movement again,” said Young. “We need strong risk-takers to once again stand up for what they believe in, share their vision with America, and motivate millions of citizens to become active in their communities. Chuck Hoskin is the type of leader who can generate bold ideas that cross ideological lines, express our values, and solve problems that are facing our world today.”
